At an altitude between 1,630 and 2,313 meters in the magnificent Salzburg Alps, this ski region is rightly considered to be one of the snowiest places in Austria with a definite snow-guarantee. From mid November until the beginning of May, winter sports enthusiast in Obertauern get to take advantage of the perfect snow and slope conditions that the region has to offer. Expect 26 cableways and lift systems, and about 100 km of the finest groomed runs, which ensure exceptional, unforgettable skiing enjoyment. The ski resort also offers a fun park and lots of powder snow for snowboarders and freestyle riders.
Anyone who just can’t get enough of skiing can enjoy night skiing too. Every Monday and Thursday, the Edelweiss 4-seat chairlift gets you up the mountain to enjoy the slopes in the late evening from 19:00 until 22:00.

Obertauern has many hiking trails for all “non-skiers”. From the Gnadenalm to the Südwiener Hut, or from the Hundsfeld trail to the Weltcup trail… Winter hiking trails can be used both on foot or with snowshoes. Everyone of all ages enjoys taking these trails, making a family vacation a very special experience.

Take a ride for 2 to 28 people in Obertauern and Tweng at any time. Taking a ride while it is snowing is also a wonderful experience. You can finish the ride off at any restaurant of your choice.
