Alpenrose apartments Location & Infrastructure Our family-run Alpenrose Apartments are located in the centre of Obertauern, where you can indulge in pleasure on the pistes from November to the start of May. There is a free car parking space available for you. From the Apartments it is just a short walk to the Gamsleitenbahn, so your skiing or snowboarding fun starts and ends right at your apartment! Having reached the top, around 100 dreamy kilometres of pistes, which have plenty of variety await – it is not for nothing that the red and the green “Tauernrunde” enjoys a legendary reputation.

A ski bridge means you can switch from the south side to the north side of Obertauern, without having to unfasten your skis. A varied choice of pistes for every ability level, 26 comfortable lift facilities and perfectly prepared pistes, make Obertauern one of the most popular ski areas in Austria.

For the little ones there is a wide selection of ski schools with practice places available. Our littlest of guests have the opportunity – right opposite our Apartments – to benefit from professional child care in “Kinderland”, which has lots of activities on offer.

Cross-country fans hearts will race with the 26 kilometres of slopes, 2 of which are cross-country slopes which have winter hiking paths very close to the Alpenrose. Around four kilometres outside Obertauern is the Gnadenalm-cross-country slope and a superb toboggan run too. Incidentally, you can also book a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride during the day or for the evening.

Banks, sports shops which have ski and snowboard hire services, boutiques, chemists, perfumeries and beauty salons are also in the immediate vicinity. There is a grocery shop with a tobacconist and souvenir items right here on the ground floor of the Alpenrose! Restaurants, pizzeria, coffee shops and Après Ski huts are just a few minutes walk away!
